Regularization for those without papers!
On Wednesday 14th June all the mainstream media were carrying
the story of a possible 'Amnesty' for 'illegal' immigrants after
Liam Byrne, the Immigration Minister told the Commons Home Affairs
Select Committee that his officials were preparing a report on
all aspects of those already in the UK without permission. Asked
by the commission if there would be an amnesty he replied: "It
is too early too tell".
NCADC would more than welcome the regularization of all those
in the UK without leave to remain it is long overdue.
We are not alone in the call for regularization of those without
papers.
The Institute for Public Policy Research' (IPPR), issued a report
'Irregular migration in the UK' in March that presented compelling
arguments for regularization. Not least amongst those arguments
that regularization would be an economic benefit for the UK.
Jack Dromey, deputy general secretary of the TGWU in May called
for the regularization of economic migrants
No doubt any regularization if it happens will contain 'ifs & buts',
there will more than likely be exclusions as there was in the 'Family
Amnesty Exercise'.
NCADC would not support any exclusions, regularization if it is
to happen must be 'without let or hindrance' to giving all those
without papers leave to remain.
Maybe you should write to your MP supporting the regularization
of all those in the UK without papers.
