Adriana Must Stay Campaign

Adriana came to the UK in 1991, after fleeing from Colombia, with her father, mother, two sisters and brother. Her parents claimed asylum and the children claimed as dependants of them.

Their asylum claim failed and Adriana's father was sent back to Columbia. Even though the father was removed the rest of the family continue to fight to remain in the UK.

Adriana married her husband Rupert in 1997 and applied for leave to remain on the basis of her marriage to a UK citizen. This was refused by the Home Office, who insisted that she leaves the UK, return to Colombia and apply to enter the UK as a spouse. There is no guarantee that if she does this she will be allowed to return, it is more than likely that she would be refused.

Forced separation contravenes the right to family life, the family life which the Labour Government holds sacred for UK citizens but not so sacred for foreigners.

Rupert and Adriana are campaigning against the Home Office decision and need help. If you live in the East Grinstead area and want more information, contact Adriana on 01342-302065.
