Victory
for Farrokh Shiri
"I
am very, very puzzled, in this country they say I am not allowed
to kill myself, but on the other hand they want to return
me to people who will kill me. " Farrokh
Shiri, HMP Exeter, 15th March 2001
Shiri's
long painful battle for asylum in the UK is now at an endToday
Thursday 19th December 2002, Shiri heard that the Secretay
of State's application for leave to appeal the Adjudicator's
decision in his favour from the Cardiff Hearing of Sept. has
been refused by the Immigration Appeal Tribunal (IAT).
Only a
Home Office application for Judicial Review could now overturn
that decision.
