More than 2 million people have left the UK for good!

Figures for thought! - the figures they never talk about.

If some sections of the national media were to be believed, no one ever leaves the UK - they only come in.

Over the period 1991 to 2000, over 2 million people left the UK on a permanent basis. These were people who had right of residency, the great majority being British Nationals.

During the period 1991 to 2000, on average 222,800 persons emigrated from the UK each year, whilst on average 280,100 migrated to the UK.
