Makhbul Youth Group- Call for Volunteers
Glasgow
Campaign to Welcome Refugees
The Makhbul Youth Group was formed a year ago for Afghani children
in Glasgow. The aim of the group was allow Afghani children to play and
to learn about a whole range of issues. The group now wishes to expand
to allow children of all ethnic backgrounds to join in it's programme
of events.
The group has recently been awarded a substantial grant which will enable
it to take part in a whole range of activities. The group is looking for
volunteers to join its staff.
At the moment there is one class per week and occasional week-end activities.
We are trying to build a broad base of volunteers which would mean that
volunteers would not be required to work every week.
We are looking for people who would be willing to take classes discussion
groups, play games or just supervise and befriend. On top of this we are
looking for people to come forward to be part of the groups Management
Committee which means some administration and organising of activities
and the activity programme. It is up to the volunteer to decide their
role as the group is very flexible.
