Beverly Hughes denies
'public enquiry' into Yarl's Wood fire in spite of
requests from Bedfordshire MPs.
"I do not feel that a full public inquiry is the best
way of getting the information that we need into the public
domain at the earliest opportunity" Minister
for Citizenship and Immigration (Beverley Hughes)
During a debate on the Yarl's
Wood fire in the House of Commons (Westminster
Hall Tuesday 16th September 2003 ), Alistair Burt raised serious
concerns, including the competence of Group 4, and
about the re-opening of Yarl's Wood under their management.
