Home Office Accused of Failing Torture Victims
The Home Office regularly dismisses evidence of torture from asylum seekers applying for refuge in Britain, raising the prospect that they could be returned to their countries of origin to face further persecution, according to a leading human rights charity.

Ay Family face Second Deportation

The Ay Family who despite a magnificent year long fight by the family and their supporters, were deported from the UK on Tuesday 5th August 2003 to Germany have had their asylum claim refused by the German authorities and are now to be deported to Turkey.

Beriwan, 15, Newroz, 14, Dilovan, 12, and Medya, and their mother Yurdugal, became household names during their struggle to remain in the UK.

Pro-Asyl, a German organisation who support asylum seekers and have been helping the Ay Family in Germany, dDescribed the decision to reject their claim by the German authorities as "tough, ignorant, and cynical".
