Demonstrations Against Deadly Detention
aaaFollowing the deaths last week at
Harmondsworth and Dungavel Removal Centres, of two asylum seekers.
Campaigners around the country are staging demonstrations this weekend
at Removal Centres and Prisons, to commemorate the needless deaths,
show solidarity with detainees, and demand an end to the deadly policy
of indefinite detention of men, women and children who are not accused
of any crime.

Dungavel Demonstration - Sunday 1 August at 1pm
Close down Dungavel, stop indefinite detention, no more suicides
Glasgow Campaign to Welcome Refugees have called the demonstration
on Sunday at Dungavel Detention/Removal Centre and are organising
transport.
Confirmed speakers include:
MSPs - Rosie Kane and Sandra White
Robina Qureshi, Positive Action in Housing
Aamer Anwar, human rights lawyer
Mohammed Asif, Glasgow Refugees' Action Group
Friends of Refugees, Ayrshire
Please bring messages of support to be read out, from you organisations.
Buses leave George Square, Glasgow, Sunday 1 August @ 12 noon.
If you can, bring your car to George Square in case it is needed for
transport.
