Removals to DR Congo - Suspended!
aaaWhen asked on Thursday 1st
of July, two immigration offices (Midlands and Southampton) said that
removals to DR Congo have been temporarily suspended as have removals
to Burundi. aaaDR Congo embassy are
no longer issuing emergency travel documents for failed asylum seekers
or re-validating travel documents already issued. aaaIf
you know of any detainees from DR Congo or Burundi, still in detention,
they should be able to apply for bail, if a detainee cannot be removed,
they should not be detained. aaa
Canada and the Republic of Ireland have suspended forced
removals to DR Congo, since May. You
will need to check with the Home Office day to day to see if removals
are still restricted
