This breakfast briefing will discuss integration policy and the use of MIPEX index as an interactive tool to assess, compare and improve national integration policies.
Speaker: Thomas Huddleston, Migration Policy Group
MIPEX, the Migrant Integration Policy Index, is a fully interactive tool and reference guide to assess, compare and improve integration policy. The tool is produced by the British Council and the Migration Policy Group, with UK national partners Runnymede Trust and Immigration Advisory Service. In the new edition, the UK fell by more points on the index than any other country, and out of the Top 10. Exactly how does the UK’s policy framework measure up to other countries in Europe and North America? What has changed? And how can UK policymakers and stakeholders use the MIPEX comparative data and trends to promote integration through new national policies?

Spring is here, and so is the Migrant Voice and Churches Refugee Network join annual Conference. CRN is a network of churches throughout Britain involved with or concerned about, the treatment of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. Migrant Voice is a migrant led organisation, promoting the voices of migrants.
The Conference offers an opportunity to share work and to acquaint newcomers with the realities of asylum seekers' and refugees' lives in Britain.
This year, Human Rights, its' historical roots in theology and philosophy, and its' current political practices will be the focus of our attentions. Our leading speakers have both ample theoretical and practical experience of the practice of Human Rights in refugee work.
There will be workshops from leading experts in the field on current asylum practices to share their experiences, inspire to action and answer your questions, and giving us an opportunity to meet new faces working in the field.
There will be photo exhibitions by Migrant Voice and another Migrant and Refugee organisation, plus a Zimbabwean band, 'Zvichanakachete', to play at lunch time.
