You could also mention that in Medical Justice and NCADC’s Outsourcing Abuse report revealed that G4S had the highest rate of abuse in detention and deportation operations. There’s lots of other ammunition in the Alternative Annual Report handed out to shareholders by protesters at the G4S AGM in the City of London last week.

Last week’s protest showed how the fight to StopG4S! unites activists, with pro-Palestinian, asylum, anti-deportation, anti-cuts and capitalist activists raising their voices together against G4S’s pernicious influence in many spheres of life.

The proposal to privatise the police force may be the tipping point, when the British public see that the assault on the rights of asylum seekers is an assault on all of us. As well as their exploitation of prisoners in the UK, G4S supply equipment to Israeli prisons where children are detained and torture is used. This brutal company are one of the biggest operators in what is being described as “asylum markets”, and along with Serco and Reliance, have taken over all provision of asylum accommodation in the UK for the next five years.

The fight to Stop G4S! is a fight for everyone’s human rights, a fight we must all join.
