26 July STOP PRESS:
the Upper Immigration and Asylum Tribunal has REJECTED the Home Office appeal and so the Lower Tier Immigration Tribunal’s decision stands. Further details and a press release to follow soon.

Rose came to the UK in 2004 to study a Masters degree. After arriving, she was diagnosed with renal failure. A successful kidney transplant saved her, but she needs to take immunosuppressant drugs for the rest of her life. Such drugs are prohibitively expensive in Nigeria and so, if deported, Rose could die within four weeks.
In November 2012, the Immigration Tribunal agreed with Rose, and granted permission to stay. However, in a shocking move, the Home Office solicitors have appealed the decision.

Dear supporters and friends
In the run up to the hearing it would be fantastic if all members of this Facebook group could share the posts and urge others to join. We want more signatures on the petition, more letters to Theresa May and more press coverage.
Sometimes speaking with Rose and her friends the insanity and cruelty of the UKBA’s actions hits me as if for the first time and I know we have to win this for Rose and for others. This is an opportunity to make good law.
Thank you to everyone for your support to date and please continue to stand up for Rose’s right to live with her friends and make the invaluable contribution to her local community that she currently does each and every day.
