Urgent campaign from Leeds No Borders
Bisexual man facing deportation to Jamaica
Please join the protest outside Leeds UKBA Waterside Court Friday 10th January 12 -1.30pm
Orashia (32) is bisexual and fled Jamaica, a country notorious for its homophobic attacks, to seek safety in the UK. Amnesty’s latest human rights in 2013 report states that ‘attacks and harassment of LGBTI people were reported to be increasing’. All his family have British passports and are working in the UK. He has 5 month daughter here too.
As a result of years of trauma and also his treatment by immigration, he suffers from depression and panic attacks. He is on medication and was undergoing counselling until he was detained at a normal signing at UKBA Waterside Court a few weeks ago. More information on Orashia can be found in the petition.
Orashia has just been issued removal directions for Monday 13th January 11.30am British Airways Flight BA2263 London Gatwick Airport.
